Property at Redfield – Bristol

This was a challenging job to repair a Victorian terraced house where virtually all the Bath stone detailing had been removed by the ill advised use of a grit blaster to remove paint.

The work involved reforming the mouldings and up to 80% of the surfaces to the stone dressings with lime mortar and then applying a sheltercoat. Earlier cement render repairs to the lower bay and cills were also removed and reformed, and the Pennant stonework re-pointed.

The Bath stone windows were cleaned, the laminating stone pinned and repaired and some glazing grilles were replaced with new stainless steel grilles to fit the tracery.
